Sculptor of the Bellewaarde Memorial

Allan Scott is an award winning sculptor and artist, based in Washington, Tyne and Wear. Having lived and worked in the North East throughout his life, Allan studied at Northumbria University as a mature student, graduating in 2000 with a BA

Honours, and later completing an MA at Sunderland University. Allan creates bronze and plaster sculptures, busts in sandstone, granite, portraitsand still and life oil paintings and charcoal drawings. His latest series of small bronzed hooded figures has been very well-received critically and by collectors.

Allan has been responsible for major public commissions. A life size bronze memorial was commissioned by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service in tribute to the four fire-fighters who lost their lives in the Atherstone-on-Stour warehouse disaster of 2nd November 2007. (The Memorial Garden is next to Stratford-upon-Avon Fire Station.) A further bronze memorial of a firemanís helmet was commissioned for Alcester, where two of the men were based.

Allan was recently awarded the Charles Henshaw prize for Hoodie.
