2nd Lieutenant Christian Dalrymple Hamilton Dunlop


10th (Scottish) Battalion The King’s (Liverpool Regiment) (T.F.), only son of Captain Hamilton Dunlop, of 23, Murrayfield Avenue, Edinburgh, R.N., by his wife, Julia Robina, daughter of Patrick Gilmour, of The Grove, Londonderry; born Southsea, co. Hants, 29thJune, 1880.

Educated at George Watson’s College; served for two years with the Mounted Company of the Queen’s Edinburgh Volunteers (Royal Scots).

Joined the Scottish Battalion of the King’ s Liverpool Regiment 31st August 1914, on the outbreak of war, and was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant 17th November 1914; joined his battalion in Flanders 23rd January 1915, and was killed in action at Bellewaarde Farm, near Ypres, 16th June following. Buried near where he fell.
