Lieut. Norman Frederick Hunter

 

The 2nd son of James Hunter and his wife, Marion. Norman was born in 1879, Edine, Midlothian, Scotland. Late of  18 Abercromby Place, Edinburgh. The well known Cambridge University amateur golfer was captain of Sunningdale Golf Club and was a familiar figure at North Berwick playing with Freddie Tait and Harold Hilton. At the outbreak of war Norman was commissioned into the Lloyds of London, 4th Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment attached to the 4th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. Norman was killed at the Battle of Bellewaarde, 16th June 1915, aged 36 years.
