Stark, William Webster, Private No. 2475, 10th (Scottish) Battalion The King’s (Liverpool Regiment) (T.F.), eldest son of the late John Swainson Stark, by his wife, Margaret (400, Edge Lane, Liverpool), youngest daughter of the late Thomas Williams, of County Salop; born Broad Green, near Liverpool, 27th July 1894; educated Girthon Public School, Gatehouse-of-Fleet, County Kirkcudbright; was employed as a Clerk; joined the Liverpool Scottish in April, 1911; volunteered for foreign service on the outbreak of war in August 1914; trained at Edinburgh and Tunbridge Wells; served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders from 1st November following; was reported wounded and missing after the fighting at Hooge, 16th June, 1915, and is now assumed to have been killed in action on that date; he was un-married
